Meet One of Us

Joss Whedon Quote: “Identity is something that you are constantly earning.”

I’m Audrey, the voice you will mostly encounter here. Truthfully, the vulnerability of this makes me cringe, but I know it’s important to write it down, capture the stories and the ideas, and share it all, because, if one person can learn from us, its worth it. Plus my kids and possibly grand and great-grand kids just need to know the story of this craziness.

A little bit about me:

Obvious: I’m the better-half of our duo. Ha! ;)

Reality: I’m mom to the most courageous, creative and crazy kids in my world. (They’re mine, I am biased). There are four humans, born within 5 years and no, none of them are twins, and two fur babies. They are my everything and my biggest annoyances all at the same time. I wouldn’t trade this job for anything else.

My professional life, on the other hand, I’m still figuring out daily. I have a Business Degree from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and a Masters in Educational Administration. I moved to New York three months after college graduation without a job. I got picked up by a start-up from the UK, which taught me scrappiness and hustle, plus opened my eyes to the whole wide world. I had to get a passport!

I’ve done client relations, sales, operations, event planning, marketing, PR, fundraising, coaching, HR and finance for the financial, construction, non-profit and education industries. (See point above about figuring it out.) I’m piecing it together and it’s made for an interesting story plus a ton of lived experience. I’ve done employee trainings in Hong Kong to creating a 501c3 and as I reflect, I’m grateful for these opportunities to learn and diversify my skills.

Most mornings and evenings you’ll see me in my main job as Kid Uber Driver and between those hours I’m helping run Fourfold plus other various volunteer responsibilities I sign myself up for. (I’m a sucker) I’m almost never without my sunglasses, take my coffee black and have a different book half-way read stashed in every nook and cranny. I prefer the late summer / early fall, mornings spent near the water, and a good slice of NY style pizza.

Overall, I’m lucky to be surrounded by good family and friends and I’m excited to share this adventure.
